Ways you can help:
» As an IndividualLearning Outward
The Franklin Experience is all about expanding the horizons of America's children to help them better understand how the sciences, technology, and advanced mathematics can open a new world of possibilities for their futures.
In the community
The Franklin Experience combines learning with fun community-based activities that promote the sciences, advanced mathematics, and technologies. From sponsored science fairs to technology showcases, the Franklin Foundation will use this program to increase community interactivity in education, and improve awareness of the sciences, advanced mathematics, and technologies.
In the classroom
The Franklin Experience creates real-world awareness by applying things students learn in class, with things they experience outside the classroom. We believe this reinforces the desire for children to pursue their dreams through the realization that they are far from out of reach. Our Franklin Scholars program matches classrooms all over the U.S. with professionals in disciplines ranging from Neurosurgeon to Network Engineer, exposing children to life inside the career - an experience they undertake personally, instead of just reading about it.
Grant Opportunities exclusive to the Franklin Experience program
The Franklin Experience also provides grant opportunities to public school districts in need of better teaching materials to reinforce critical learning skills and change learning outcomes to ensure students reach their full potential. Our ScienceFirst grants help needy schools purchase important tools like lab equipment, books, and apparatus. Our TechFirst grants help schools purchase computers, implement student-maintainable networks and server farms, and much more.
Not just throwing money at the problem...
We recognize there are dollars out there for these same purposes, but what keeps them ineffective, is their failure to integrate learning tools with real experience and community interactivity and reinforcement. The Franklin Experience is the first program in the nation to take a more well-rounded approach to the promotion of stronger education in science, advanced mathematics, and technology. From the community to the classroom and beyond, our program is aimed at creating innovators by innovating the process of philanthropy.
