"An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

- Benjamin Franklin

An introduction

The Franklin Foundation is developing The Franklin Standard to promote the development of national curricula aimed at ensuring a balanced, effective, and complete education for all of America's children regardless of where they live or what they have. We believe this is the best way to break the cycles of poverty and improve the nation's innovation base.

Innovation must start with education. The Franklin Foundation believes the innovation of the educational process; the means of content delivery as well as the methods of assessment, ensure the development of a new baseline, a new standard for educational excellence. A standard that is shared by all teachers, all students, all school districts, and all communities. The Franklin Standard aims to unify the American education system in a way never before imagined.

The first draft of the Franklin Standard will be delivered to State education officials and school boards around the country for feedback, after which, a final draft will be created and presented to Congress and the U.S. Secretary of Education. A delivery timeframe has not yet been established, however, this page will be updated with content from both the draft and final versions of the standard.
