Donations not slated for specific funds receive a percentage allocation as part of the annual budgeting process. Funding targets are based on this allocation.
ScienceFirst Grant provides funding for the purchase of scientific apparatus, equipment, lab setups, teaching materials, models, and other science-related needs in America's under funded school science labs.
TechFirst Grant provides funding for the purchase of computers, peripherals, digital-library, learning server farms, networking equipment, and other technology-related needs in America's under funded school computer labs and classrooms.
Franklin Scholars Grant provides funding for emerging scientists and innovators to help turn an invention and business concept into reality. This grant is offered to emerging companies and organizations in scientific, technological, or advanced math-based industries to provide seed funding.
Franklin Discovery Grant provides funding for the research and development of patent-ready technologies that help American businesses compete globally. Discovery grants are made to individuals and teams, through The Franklin Foundation Independent Research & Development Initiative (i-Redi). The following technologies are eligible for this grant:
