The Franklin Foundation Announces new Directors
released by Media Relations Team
PHILADELPHIA, PA - March 6, 2010 - The Franklin Foundation has announced new founding Directors today. The new members include Dr. Peter Jesson, Dr. Masha Petrova, Dr. Shawn Hales, Michelle Eidam, Robert O'Brien, and Dr. Henry Wolfe. These new members will join H. G. Chissell, Deana Zelenka and the foundation's chairman Endre Walls. The foundation's new directors are the first in a class of experienced practitioners and subject-matter experts who will help America's newest philanthropic venture succeed in helping America's children gain access to opportunity.
The Foundation will be announcing 6 more directors in the coming months as well as a couple of honorary chairpersons who will be instrumental in helping the foundation achieve its mission of shaping what they call America's Innovation Generation.
"Finding the right talent for this endeavor means the difference between long-term success and short-term failure. Our mission is a 20 year one, focused on developing a generation of American scientists, technologists, and mathematicians who can ensure our county is no longer threatened by a lack of innovation. In order to ensure our national security, we need to improve our focus on the development of internal talent, to help us face tomorrow's problems today." - Endre Jarraux Walls, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors
The Foundation is additionally looking for individuals interested in serving on its advisory boards called The Franklin Councils. Members of these targeted advisory boards will help the foundation in its efforts to improve education in America's schools, strengthen America's patents and copyrights system, offer access to opportunity for our society's brightest students and teachers, and ensure legislative awareness of our country's growing knowledge deficit.
ABOUT THE FRANKLIN FOUNDATION: The Franklin Foundation is a non-profit organization who's mission is to promote the invention of new, and innovation of old American technologies and technological processes through the creation and funding of programs, initiatives, and educational opportunities that enhance America’s competitive edge in an increasingly global marketplace.
