Dr. Peter Jesson, Ph.D

Dr. Jesson served as a research scientist with Du Pont de Nemours & Company, Inc. for over 30 years. He was the laboratory director for the Jackson Laboratory with Dupont Chemicals, and served as Director of Physical Sciences with DuPont's Central Research and Development group. An experienced scientist of 5 decades, Dr. Jesson has written papers on the Vibrational Spectra of Polyatomic Molecules, Infrared Vibrational Band Intensities, and spoken at numerous conferences and Universities as an expert lecturer and subject matter expert. He has published over 70 academic publications in his long and distinguished career.

 

Dr. Jesson received his B.A. in Chemistry, M.A. and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the renowned St. John's College at Oxford University in England where he was also a lecturer in Physical Chemistry. He additionally performed his postdoctoral fellowship with the National Research Council of Canada working with Dr. Gerhard Herzberg and Dr. D. A. Ramsay.

 

Dr. Jesson numerous professional activities and awards include:

 

  • - Expert Scientist for NASA (1979)
  • - NAS-NRC Evaluation Panel for Chemical Physics (1980-1982)
  • - Member, Solar Energy Research Institute's Advisory Board (1982-1985)
  • - Chairman of the NAS/NRC Evaluation Panel for Chemical Physics(1983-1985)
  • - Member, Advisory Board, Center for Advanced Materials, Catalysis Section (1984-1986)
  • - Board of Directors, Junior Achievement of Delaware (1985-1987)
  • - NAS-NRC Evaluation Panel, National Measurements Lab, NIST (1988-1990)
